Secret Garden

Dawn's gray lights chase me
around this dulcet garden
my footsteps pressing softly
into the damp earth, soon hidden
beneath fallen leaves and
a pair of fairy wings.

My voice remains low
as the garden starts breathing
petals stretching, giving away
all their secrets to the sky
and bright dew drops burn to ash, then
sweep beneath the stepping stones
'till another morn.
