Take a pony riding in spring,
Hooves in puddles merrily sing,

A blowing wind turns weathervane;
The clouds roll in, then comes more rain,

And while riding in the summer,
Loping hooves beat like a drummer,
Thumpety-thump, thumpety-thump.
Sunshine and heat dry out the ground;
The hard, baked earth echoes the sound,

Take a pony riding in fall,
Leaves under hooves beckon and call,
Scrunchety-scrunch, scrunchety-scrunch
Colourful scenes hanging from trees,
Gently let go, loosed by a breeze,
Scrunchety-scrunch, scrunchety-scrunch.

And while riding in the winter,
Frozen puddles crack and splinter,
Crunchety-crunch, crunchety-crunch.
Falling snowflakes settle like dust,
Melting on top form a hard crust,
Crunchety-crunch, crunchety-crunch.
