Sank into this sunken place

No one knows the girl who hides
Behind my face.
No one know the tears I've cried
For many years.

My confidence has all but gone,
Of myself there’s barely a trace.
There’s so much pain behind my mask
I wears upon my face.

The sunken place has controlled my life
With far too many tears,
My smile is fake, I'm good at it,
I've been doing it for years.

It the cover that attracts us,
To the story within the book.
And I'm afraid without my mask,
No one would even look.
