Sacred light (free verse)

Once
Upon a moonbeam
Underneath
The stars
Out
Along the milky way
By
Jupiter and Mars
A little ray
Of
Golden light
Made
Its way to earth
Enlightening
The world below
For all
That it was worth
It lit
The very soul of earth
Shining
Far and wide
But
Suddenly
That sacred light
Was
Doused until it died
It didn't
Stay forever
And it didn't stay
For long
But
The light that shone
That
Blessed day
Glows on
And on and on.
