Rush Delivery: Night's Sky

I made the Night's sky for you
painted black over the velvet blue
only because I strung some lights
thought they were pretty and nice
they really reflect against the black
but it's okay if you take it back.

I also made you something else
not made from a fairy or an elf
just from me, I call it a "Moon"
it's big and bright outside the window
in my room
Hypnotizing to stare at
especially on clear nights
complimented by the "Stars" - oh,
it's what I named those hanging lights.

It's nothing much, just thought it would do
I know you hate the dark with its invisible view
thought this would cheer up the way
the beautiful sun falls quickly away
Open it carefully, I couldn't find any ribbon
to tie together this gift given
I recommend you lay on your back
once the Night's sky is opened a crack
think of me when you're looking up from your yard

Oh - and no need to send a Thank You card.
