Rugged Terrain

Mountains high dot the landscape of earth,
with imposing power, strength and mysticism;
Their wills are safely guarded by the stars,
which glow among their lofty peaks with wisdom.

I've climbed above to view those ancient rocks,
ascending through the sky like winged angels;
Each desginating moments of historical worth,
intended to reveal the voices under nature's spell.

The steady hills are moist and lush as silver,
with grassy patches cut along the paths;
Of galloping horses that took to wander,
but fell and died within the hillside's wrath.

As in life itself one must be painfully cautious,
of dangers which may disrupt our hopeful dreams;
When we set out to conquer or to master,
the rough terrain of buried stones within our schemes.

Somehow we learn about the inveitable suffering,
of yearning for perfection that won't present;
Answers to each earthly problem in our midst;
for such miracles lie solely under heaven's tent.
