Roses and Violets

Are roses not red,
And violets not blue?
Is love but a famine,
Will it ever renew?

Is it part of my future,
How can it be true?
Don’t I know what it is,
Do I not have a clue?

Will I ever remember,
The day long ago?
The seed that was planted,
And love that did grow?

Will I ever forget,
The moment we met?
The salty sea air,
The dancing sunrays?

Will time come again,
When roses are red?
Will they even matter,
The things that I’ve said?

Will I ever be there,
When violets are blue?
Will I ever say, Love,
I… i need you.
