Rome

Rome

When the ponentino wind softly blows through your seven hills

and gently caresses your golden platan's leaves...

When the moon lightens your ancient buildings and streets...

The heroes of your past again in you breath...

You become alive, I can hear your heart's beats.

I stare at the stars reflecting on the placid Tiber

the Rome's heart and eternal river...

Under the shadow of the Gianicolo's trees

A young couple first fight and then make peace...

Rome, wherever I will go you'll be in my heart...
