Rogue Writer

I talk all about myself
And you talk about me too
The funny thing is
I have never talked about you
If it makes you feel good
And it's what you need to do
Then take your best shot
Why not take two

Cause I'm a rogue writer
Don't follow any rules
I'm a freedom fighter
These words are my tools

You think my words are shallow
In a primitive kind of way
But you'll just cut yourself
With your double edge blade
And I stand in the mirror
Facing my own fears
And when the student's ready
My teacher disappears

Cause I'm a rogue writer
Don't follow any rules
I'm a freedom fighter
These words are my tools

Love is my foundation
Oneness is my creed
Don't bring me your religion
That's something you must need
I listen to your thoughts
I stand behind your cares
When you stomp my toes
I say a little prayer

Cause I'm a rogue writer
Don't follow any rules
I'm a freedom fighter
These words are my tools

If one becomes wounded
Near the temple he has built
Let him feel his shame
Let him recognize his guilt
Let him find his kindness
In the words he will choose
And maybe then one day
He'll be a freedom fighter too

Cause I'm a rogue writer
Don't follow any rules
I'm a freedom fighter
These words are my tools

Phil the rogue poet

I have no honors no badges no awards or medals, I reach toward the sun like flowering petals, I teach in poetry as I learn from others, We each bloom separately into different colors, and where I come from, we have a sense of humor. Peace and love my poetic friends! more…
