Rewritten

this is my heart
frayed, but beating
a soldier ducking artillery
scathed, but viable
this is my heart
the one that you furrowed
and wound in twine
to dangle and reel
your yoyo wench
this is my heart
the one with teeth
the one that gnawed
at your string 'til it snapped
this is my heart
that bounced
bruised and frayed
but beating.
