Reunion

The night was deserving
When he finally reached out to her
His first contact was warm
Like a infant wrapped in fur

He was turning in his past
While looking for a second chance
To once again know what he lost
After a long, cold absence

The tired sparkle in her eyes
Had faded slowly from her know
That one day he would return
And replace the empty of her soul

His heart beat could be heard
The day he first saw her again
Nothing else existed
In the bliss surrounding them

They had been waiting patiently
While their lives slowly passed them by
Believing, needing, wanting, hoping
Their faded love would survive

With broken dreams and a hopeless era
Not that far behind
They embraced in a special harmony
That felt like it was sublime
