Respect Your elders

Christopher Moore 1970 (wisconsin)

For those who live much longer,
It can be a sad existence.
The younger may be stronger,
But they haven't gone the distance.

No need to laugh and point,
They're not here for your amusement.
The tightening of their joints,
Has caused a lack of movement.

You better learn this now,
They have knowledge that is immense.
They sure could show you how,
To live a life that makes sense.

You may never achieve that Golden age,
But there is no need to stare.
They're not animals who've been encaged,
Just older folks with flare.

Christopher Moore

Yet, poetry of any kind allows me to speak my feeling without feeling shame. There is too much ridicule and hypocracy; therefore, I choose to write poetry for me, myself, and I. more…
