Reminiscence (Pleasure)

To what do I owe this pleasure?
Sitting here looking at old photographs
Reminiscing over things that had been
I pick up your picture, there is your face
Staring at me again
A knock at the door
The pleasure of your soft voice
Speaking of the past
How much we use to laugh
Telling each other funny stories
My heart was truly glad
Communication was our thing
Hard to find in a world of pretend
Loose lips sink ships, someone said
For us, a means to an end
The pleasure of your gentle face
Eyes forever warm and comforting
A smile that made my heart stop
Dimples extremely sexy
Gentleness apparent and never topped
The pleasure of your warm embrace
The broadness of your shoulders, always strong when
I needed to lean
Your mind always fixated on
Making me your Queen
You filled me to my core with
Love,understnding and more, your
Attention to my distress, made
Me feel truly blessed
It's funny how life goes
Our love was pure and deep
We both know, but
Although our love was true
It was not meant for
Me and you
But,
In its place I can think back and remember
The pleasure was always you!

Poetry is what makes me whole and keeps me sane all at the same time. You are born a poet, a storyteller, it is a part of what you are, a great gift from God. You can be taught to put words on paper, only those with a poet's Soul can make you feel those words deeply! I hope all of you feel me. :-) more…
