Remembrance

I linger; my spirit, it didn't get
a chance to say hello to my mother,
here I flutter as she squeezes tightly
the carcass that should have been a new home,
instead it's nothing but dead bone and skin;
an empty foetus which greeted the world.

I'll have to go soon as the light is here,
tapping against impatience; my concern,
she was looking forward so much to my
arrival too - I could feel excitement
coast along her veins: delivering wet
power to my little heartbeat; struggles.
Goodbye, it is now time for me to leave,
please do grieve. I want to be remembered!
