Reflections, Island Shores

The sun rises and awakens a sleeping beauty,
Unveiling a land sculpted and immaculately defined;
The handiwork of a Master.

Crabs scuttle away as shadows disappear
And an angelic orchestra mounts up on wings,
Heralding the new day.

I listen as the wind sweeps through the cedar trees,
And their sedating chorus possesses the air;
Flowing with the rhythmic beat of waves upon the shore.

Serenity and languor takes over,
Time is forgotten;
Until the light of day begins to steal away.

The sun descends to kiss the sea,
Its radiance cradles the horizon
Leaving drifting puffs stained by its brilliance.

Shadows blanket the land once more
Only to expose countless captivating eyes
In a darkened sky.
