Reflaction

perhaps... it's not so polite after all,
anger and all, the 40th call...
perhaps it's us that are stalled, amazed at an order, halt!
crossing the border with poison and salt, a vicious assault on the feelings
emotions and dealings of close ones - the friends, the siblings...the good beings...
achieve our goals through whatever the cost, whatever the means
cool beans, could it be that we are the mean ones?

know nothing, not a wiseman, like some would point out
is there a way out? not sure, but surely there's doubt
and plenty of it, barely a spot to stow it!
but also, and here's a surprise - a compromise
we don't seem to see it, yet, it's here, before our eyes, a horizon
of peace and tranquility, tolerance - what a utility!
perhaps it's the ego that keeps us in darkness
perhaps it's the "I" that keeps on the shackles

a metaphore, goes to every pore, for the rich and the poor
no decision is pure, you've found gold? check again, it's manure
attention grabbing, bright manicure, just a target for hunger's eyes and some ridicule...

after fire, after heated debates...decades pass -
saved - face,
lost - what was once great
alone, on a throne, a prawn, emptiness prone....
where are you friends? i once thought in unity we'll meet our ends...

was the ultimate win better than forfeit? in the end...
was it all worth it?
