Redemption

I'm crying in the rain
releasing my sorrow and pain
like waterfalls the droplets flow
glistening like diamonds
in sun's radiant glow.

I'm hiding in the rain
to disguise my heartache and shame
I have only myself to blame
thunder roars condemning my name
lightening strikes I am cursed this night.

I run for cover to escape my fate
but it's much too late
I have sinned
I repent and beg for mercy
I'm on my hands and knees.

Soft whispers almost silent
tell me not to fear
I raise my head too slowly
and angels disappear
was it just a mirage or were they really here.
