Redeeming Feature

In whatever befalls every creature,
Resides a redeeming feature.
In sorrow scarcely seen,
With hindsight if you are keen.

In every misfortune is this design,
Sweet realization if to it you resign.
Hence accept both joy and pain,
This solace to attain.

Since joy with pain alternates,
A common strand in each hibernates,
An ever revolving interface,
Presenting each with periodic pace.

Why when we miss the good we pursue,
Do despondency and desperation ensue?
The untied nuptial knot,
Could bind a life of conjugal rot.

If life has broken beyond repair,
If from frustrated hopes you despair,
If from painful wrongs you're pining,
Soothe it, seek the silver lining.
