Red Oak Rivalry

My red oak once stood so tall
until my father cut her down
though her beauty still stands shortened
I groveled at the ground.

We share whispers of our rivalry
the mutinous shells we are
distinguished by politics and society
we are tired of trying hard.

Wake up civil nation!
Our secrets are being raped,
our soil being trampled
by mistakes that we have made.

Time escapes our crippling grasp
as we lead this wayward journey,
we won't digress as they progress
we will work as fast we are learnng.

The poor bastards who have no clue
that shameless finger they point at you
will one day break, just like the promises
made for our countries sake.
