Recollection of Paris '68

My friend Lawrence was there,
He tried to strike an officer after
They arrested his wife.
Lawrence received a beating.

I grabbed the back of Lawrence's jacket and
Tried to lift him off the ground
But dead weight is hard to move.
"Leave him be," said the baton as it cracked the back of my hand.

You should have seen my blood
Spill onto Lawrence's back then the ground,
Mixing with his blood as it soaked into a brochure de rTvolution.
Had you seen that, our blood and those words,
Then you would know what a revolution really means.
