Rear view

Sitting here..Watching cars drive past
Red yellow green never seem to last
Life is alot like traffic and the speed is just too fast
What is now is already the past

Sitting On my dash is faded picture of you
Fairly old but I still treat it new
Radio plays our song on, 97.2
For first time I listen all the way through

Hit gas just to go fast to see if I can feel
Car cuts a lane and semi stops at yield
I saw girl looked like you dancing in the field
I knew it couldn't be true just a blur in the rear view

I see you in the rear view
I reach out I tried to save you
I can't seem to break through
and there's nothing I can do
You're fading, you're fading, fading in the rear view
