Realizing my Plight -- Life Lessons Part 5, the Conclusion

I lift my head
From the embrace.
The arms are wet with tears.
“I'm sorry.” I whisper.
“I wasn't enough.
And I used you once again.”
Tears fell from the loving face.
“Dear child, I love you so.
I would give my life for you –
That you need to know.”
My sobs broke loose
As I finally saw
What my life had been about.
I realized no matter what I did,
Someone would love me
Through even my darkest night
