Rainbow

Laura Pirard

Red for blood, the rose, and fire's coals.
Orange for sunsets upon the shoals.
Yellow for gold and light of day.
Green for the grass upon which I lay.
Blue for the sky and the deep, windswept sea.
Violet for the sun gone and mists around me.
Black for the night and shadows not few.
White for the moonlight around me and you.
