Quiet

Quiet
A cacophony of silence
That is where I belong
Somewhere between sundown and sunset
Between the tides, the equator
The middle, the peace, the path
Alone, bereft and constant
Like the wind, or the water, the air or of fire
Awaiting something of nothing
Expecting someone in return
In lieu of myself
Shipped from a faraway place
To a return sender who keeps
Sending empty packages wrapped in fancy wrapping
A circle of smoke within a breeze
Or find me among a wisp of redwoods
My soul calmed and close to the earth
Let me breathe in the quiet solitude
Drinking it like water on a sordid day
In autumn, cool, quiet, leaves falling
That is where I belong

I appreciate this website, all the comments and mutual support it provides to the craft of writing. Keep on writing! more…
