Pushing Envelope

Shaded with something feral
The meteors showered with light
Forget the ache throbbing dull
Lava's offering to Night
The premise doesn't hold up
Poisoned pen pushed the envelope

No way I'll clean your mess
I know I don't look it
But I've been to the place
That makes your blood run cold
Sunk to my teeth on hubris
We're just blind puppies to be culled
I won't fit in the dress

Darkness soaking up the ink
As we await the final curtain
Your life story sold in a blink
I forgot to mention
Room service dropped off the truth
Broke and naked in a phone booth

The sun awakens The Boulevard
From the dream we all weave
And my eyelid has fallen hard
It's  better if I leave
The morning is running away
Oily smog strangles LA
