Poem 681

Eyes peering through the door

The TV I do ignore

Days turning to years

A new wrinkle appears

People come and gone

Still feeling all alone

Seasons pass by

With grief, I start to cry

The house has become a cage

Trying to fight the rage

I begin to brood

As I try to find some solitude

Clouds floating in the sky

Watching a bird pass by

Bright sunlight uplifting

My mood begins shifting

I hear the birds singing

A telephone as it's ringing

Simplistic wonderous works of the Lord

No amout of money can afford

The day's burdens wiped away

Head bowed, silently I pray

My escape from everyday life. I am a fan of haikus, tankas, sonnets, rhyming poetry and stylistic poetry such as E. E. Cummings. more…
