Plumeria Lei

Silky leaves with gentle dew
Quite delightful in their textures,
Other waters dripping, twirling,
Skipping lightly o’er the stones.

Standing in anticipation
Of the clouds through which we’ll walk,
Gentle breezes wrapped around us
Spreading misty droplets near.

Unfamiliar with the music
Of creatures avian of candied hue,
Climbing higher, testing gently,
Expansive spaces, teetering cliffs!

Blossoms float on gentle breezes
Indistinguishable in their color,
Here the fog never lifts
Leaving normal senses blighted!

Visions thwarted, perceptions dimmed
As the zippered case is opened,
A familiar scent suddenly rises,
Reminiscent of my candles!

You gently, lovingly lift above me
A floral, never-ending ring,
Genuflect for me to place
This king of petaldom upon your neck.
