Piddling With Poetry

Words written down along, just here and there.
Add some description, a little color and flare.
Make it quite short, or make it very long.
Perception isn’t always just right or all wrong.
You can pour out complete heart, body and soul,
Saying something that’s never, ever been told.
You can write about a picture hanging on the wall.
Tell a story that doesn’t make any sense at all.
Let words reveal a long, lost, vibrant love.
Convey a dear message from angels and God above.
Talk about kinds of love, peace, war, and hate.
Even admit to pent-up guilt and hidden mistakes.
Describe nature as talking to the blind.
Reminisce about some of the good ole’ times.
Allow eyes to be able to hear various sounds.
Add suspicion, decisions, laughter and frowns.
Leave a soul yearning and burning with desire.
Build a character that someone else may admire.
Make a statement that many others may fear.
Touch the heart of someone, with whom you hold dear.
You see, you can piddle along with poetry all day
And find it’s truly amazing just what all you can say.
So, go and get out your pencil, your paper, or pen
And piddle along with your poetry again and again.
