Peace conference

Let us pull our minds together
Into a fresh marriage
Press the burden of the past behind
Pause and powder, the victims as  sacrificial lamb
Always retold but can always be forgotten.

We have only a short time to stay
As quick a growth to meet decay
As you and anything we die
Never to be found again.

Let us sit down you and me
Though we cannot make the sun standstill
We can make dreams come true.

Again let us sit down like brothers
And talk of those things
In solemn silence
The nod of heads and feel of eyes
Without the need of tongues
Being spent, the worse and worst
