As I gazed out a window
 what is it that I see
but my past getting closer
trying to catch up to me
the darkness it follows
 wherever I may go
haunting me forever
 for the past will always know
the truth that I keep hidden
 way down deep inside
and it doesn't matter where I go
 there is nowhere to hide
for the past must always catch up to me
 to this I know be true
but I only long to live my life
 a life I wish where new
