Pain and Comfort

Pain is the spirit
that lurks in the dark.
He's the one hiding, waiting, deep down inside, on the surface as well.
Appearing when you least expect it.
He makes you jump when he's around

Comfort is the butterfly
That dances with joy.
She's the yellows and blues yet sometimes she's coy.
She soothes and warms the unsettled, as she flutters within.

Sometimes Pain can be stronger than Comfort.
He tends to push Comfort a bit too hard.
She's a fighter though, in her own delicate way.
When he gets tired, finally going away,
Comfort is there to save the day.
