Out of the darkness
Eyes flicker open,
Huge golden orbs blink
Shutting out the darkness.
Silent silhouette
gray wings beating,
Magnificently sweeps
From the barn’s shelter.
Over moonlit corn fields
The silver feathered phantom
Brushes across the stars
Caressed by the moon.
