Overgrown

Good night sky you're here!
I've never met a better sight
I've broken through this wood veneer
To lock my eyes with yours' tonight.

Resting from walk on cold concrete,
I look to you to mend my mind.
My loneliness is made complete
And wonder if I'll ever find

What binds a man to broken dreams,
What chains him to his solitude,
From the fickle flicker of your beams
A steady thought is caused accrued.

I'll drag on and fill my days
Like plays, like film about a life;
All strife and no direction shown
To find a home.
A boy still young, but overgrown.
