Open Your Eyes

We all have a God in the heavens above
And we have a choice to let him show us His love

He is the Creator of the heavens and everything on earth
He gives us reasons to live: health, happiness, hope & self-worth

We as his children have the choice
To play with the devil or listen to His voice

So listen to me, Pray to Him, take my advice
He’ll answer your prayers, He won’t think twice

I was an addict, now I have a story to give
Almost OD’ed but God let me live

He’s shown me His love, I know that he cares
To my parents and family, He has answered their prayers

Now that I’m sober, I have time to think
I’ve put down the drugs and I don’t even drink

I’ve changed my environment and don’t go to bars
I read God’s good book and look at the stars

I often think of the life I had
The money I wasted makes me sad

Now God has inspired me, puts words in my mind
I put them on paper and try to make them rhyme

Hope someone reads these words He gave to me
He’ll also open your eyes so you can see
