Open The Door

There is a very old rule of life,
That happens just by chance,
It seldom gets a fair review,
From the sidelong casual glance.

This rule that I speak of,
Isn't new to life,
And when it's not followed my friend,
Invariably it genders much strife.

The strife that this thing genders,
'Tis lost on most males you see,
The female knows of it's import,
And appreciates it's import with glee.

Whats that you ask in utter confusion,
What am I talking about?
This is something very old,
Of which Bards and Poets do shout.

Since your boyish head is all full of mush,
And still you will not see,
The thing I have been talking about,
Is old fashioned Chivalry.

You may say I am the crazy one,
And totally lacking in sense,
But the appreciation from the Girls on this,
Is nothing short of immense!

I learned from my Grandfather long ago,
That girls come in all shapes and sizes,
And if you treat them all with respect,
You find out that they also have prizes.

So open the door, carry the packages,
Be at her beck and call,
She will cause you not to regret it,
And make you feel 10 feet tall.
