One Man's Dance

All the words I spoke,
All the thoughts, I thought,
Songs I sung,
Melodies I hum.
All that life not in a book.
the long way and the shortcuts I took.
Deep breaths, sweet and foul.
If Mom and Dad could see me now.
Goals and dreams,
All those things.
Objects to hold and to throw away.
They just get old anyway.
All the people I did not know?
To those I did, I have this to show.
I was here today.
And I want to dance another day.
