All is gray
When duty is done;
Headworn derby, tattered brown-
Pipe in hand,
Last look around,
The forty and seven years
Soon to be memento...
And what may have seemed
As laudable repose,
Was not to the mentor
In his wooden regal chair,
Packing away his name
With his chalk-stained fingers.
