On The Horizon

He hates this life of crime
But here he feels trapped.
He is surrounded and thinks he can't climb,
His fear makes him handicapped.
A good hearted policeman
Tells him he can change.
Get out he can,
His life to rearrange.
His courage is weak,
His life is fragile.
He dares not speak,
His lips are not agile.
Something more he does seek,
For his life to be worthwhile.
Can he really be good?
He wonders because someone told him he could.
