O'Neill Sits In Weeds

This summer Sunday
holds gossip of the vibrant leaves hushed
while aunts set table cloths
among the trees
children in Communion suits
hold reverent poses
impatiently
waiting for the soccer ball
and squirrel feeding .
O'Neill sits in weeds
watching spider's weave
among the lotus buds and dust
alive with buzzing fuss
of dragon flies
musing on her child in Christ.
