Not Your DoorMat Anymore

Angry words , Slammed doors,

You blame me for your life,

I am suppose to be your best friend your wife,

You never swallow your pride to aplogize,

Where is the love that we used to feel?

Was it even real? I will not let you decieve me still,

Ive been your shelter from the cold,
I would have loved you through anything,

But to you I was a doormat,

Somewhere to wipe your dirt and grime ,

Shifting blame and responsibilty,

I walk away and you ask why,
Is it not obvious your unkind words hurt, The cheating the lies,

The tears you caused in our children's eyes,

So here I am afraid to wonder out in the world,

But I know this is something I have to do,

To prove to not only you but to myself that I will no longer be a doormat,

You have worn your welcome out,

You are too violent and too loud,

Your pestimistic ways darken the brightest day,

This more than any woman should tolerate,

I walk away because of the man you became,

Knowing I can't tolerate,

I have to stand up and say I am not your doormat anymore.
