Not In Stone

A perverse hand has stolen
Without conscience with no remorse
Leaving behind an outer shell
Broken by the force,
That stole upon like thievery
Does in silent shadows
Between those mute horizons
Where they say angels battle
In those thunderous moments
When existence seems to freeze
When stars go out and life itself
Brings you to your knees
She fell as a comet
Tearing through the sky
To live in a walking death
Never knowing why
A hand could be so callous
Blind to others tears
Taking all security
And replacing it with fear.

Someday, maybe someday
The clouds will finally break
For as the memories heave again
I pray it won't be late
Healing knows in time,
Forgiveness breaks the chain
And only in you mind
Can you make the change
Listen to the silence
Who cares if you're alone?
You're greater than a moment
Pain is not in stone.

The wounds inside are mighty
They take the course they take
But you, you are the champion
Who can usurp the power of fate.
