not death, i'm just hurt.

her heart pounded close to the ground
the thud was audible in her ear
pressed against the cool green
grass.
her hair sprawled out around her face
she took a deep breath, breathing in
grass and dirt and other unpleasant
things.
a bug here and there, she felt them
crawl on her lips and the tip of her
nose.
lifting her hand weakly she pressed her
cold fingertips against her cheeks, wet with
tears.
she rolled over on to her side to face this
man.
a man she used to trust, a man she used to
love.
he watched her lay in the grass, sad and cold,
lonely.
hurt.
he didn't care now, in fact, he never
did.
