No Regret Could Prey

If we had felt the wonder, if we had seen the light,
if we had put the blunder,
no regret could kite.

If we had paid the piper, if we had sailed the sea,
if we had shot the viper,
no regret could be.

If we had built the glory, if we had told the tale,
if we had lived the story,
no regret could rail.

If we had won the medal, if we had hit the ball,
if we had met the pedal,
no regret could gall.

If we had kept the border, if we had set the rule,
if we had held the order,
no regret could fool.

If we had used the money, if we had seized the day,
if we had tried the honey,
no regret could prey.
