She is my friend.
She had been from birth,
nestled beside me in my crib.
We grew together.
As friends came and went
she was always behind my shoulder, whispering in my ear.
She came to be my infatuation
when love was hopelessly lost.
Now as I write this ode
her hands rest on my heart.
Her name is lonliness
and she is bound by blood to be my blushing bride.
