Narcissistic Morning

When you awake in morning
to greet the newborn day
does it become fair warning that you are the bouquet?

When you unfurl sleepy eyes
to view the world anew
does it become no surprise that you are best of few?

When you submit to sunlight
to salute fading stars
does it become a birthright that you are over czars?

When you arise in dreaming
to face unadorned fact
does it become redeeming that you are a class act?

When you head off the pillow
to begin every chore
does it become great billow that you are center core?

When you look in the mirror
to see what sleep has done
does it become much clearer that you are number one?
