My Sweet Redhead

God created the fire and its reddening heat.
God created heaven and the whiteness of its clouds.
God created the sea and the depth of its blue.
Afterwards, He created the earth, built as a scene,
A theater where the audience would have every day
The most dreamy play never acted
And a painting whose colors drown
Inside an eddy of love and passion.
Notwithstanding this huge work,
Some fool don't see this beauty
which is offered every day to their eyes.
They are content with poor substitutes.
But when the autumn comes and when the leaves redden,
Owing to the sweet look of the sun, and fall, amorous,
My heart beats, happy and privileged of all others
Because I have everyday this scene that God gave me,
When I contemplate jealously my sweet redhead.
