My Stairway to Heaven

I sat and ponder about my stairway to heaven
and finally decided Im probably halfway done with it.
Each step is made just for me
from someone who touched heart with mine.

Here a happy pace, there, a tear shed.
And yonder of admiration.
One is flawlessly made out of love.
The other carved out of pain that broke my heart.

Love and laughter, tears and sorrow.
My stairway to heaven in time had grown.
Each tear I shed, each laughter i shared
had built the pace, had left a footmark
in the stairway to heaven of my life.
