My Lover My Best Friend

You are my greatest friend,
I didn't know that in the beginning, but now I'll remember it till the very end,
 I didn't treat you like a queen,
Thought my love for you was solid, but I let the little things get in between,
I always admitted to being wrong,
But I'm sorry just sounded like an annoying song,
I acted like everything was okay,
But who knew I was making your love for me fade away,
I took you for granted and made you want to move on,
But I just couldn't stand to see you gone,
 I broke your heart,
I thought this is where we'd part,
 It was too late,
But I still made you wait,
 My heart pounding, stomach aching,
 My palms sweaty, knees shaking
 You were done,
But my speech had just begun,
 I couldn't stop talking,
And all you wanted was to start walking,
But you stayed and listened to it all,
Here I was tryna stand tall,
I kept my head up cuz I couldn't look down,
I couldn't stand to see your tears hit the ground,
I'd do anything to turn this all around,
Cuz I wanna turn your frown upside down,
And see that smile brighten me up like sunshine,
And go back to being yours and you being mine,
I know it's easier said than done,
So I'm sorry, I promise this is the last one,
Let's wake up tomorrow and have a fresh start,
And take the steps to heal each other's heart,
Come close and hold me tight,
Whisper in your ear that everything's gonna be alright,
All you gotta do is wait and see,
Cuz the rest is all up to me
