My Little Girl

I'll take you back about nine months, when things got a little strange
There were feelings I didn't quite understand; yet I accepted the sudden change

The anticipation building of what could it be,
Then I realized I am now a mommy-to-be.

As the months went on, I could feel it gradually growing
I felt so blessed with child, and all emotions overflowing

The sex, I chose not to find out, I didn't think I needed to know
But after a few weeks, I'd wished that I had, for suspense had started to grow

Approaching my due date was an experience beyond describing
Hearing every little heart beat helped my mind start realizing

Responsibility now will lay on Daddy and me, Mommy
I will do my best for this little person full of life inside me

Baby finally arrived on Wednesday, a sunny day on April the sixth
Although baby was one-week late, I didn't know what to predict,

It was then that I was overwhelmed with the greatest feeling in the World,
For I had just been blessed with my very own "little girl" !!!!!
