My Heart Is Yours

From days of old it has been told,
Of a love that could never be bought,
A lover, which never would he hold!
The story of love that would forever,
Forevermore come to life and unfold.
A story of betrayal in this sorted tale,
Where the heart of a man did fail.
Never once to follow his calling,
In love with her he kept falling.
Every time he would see her face,
In touch with love he lost all trace.
As the sun rose he just sat there alone,
Not sure of the love he has now shown.
He cries, “My heart is yours my love,
Yours forever my Angel from above.”
Waiting in darkness he cries her name,
Hidden is a love he knows is not the same.
Still, he waits for a glance, a smile, a word,
A rhyme to tell him forever he is not alone.
Even a brush of her hair, her scent, those lips,
He adores her so yet without he quietly sits.
With baited breathé he holds out his hand,
Then he pulls back so as to not hurt her.
Still I say my heart is yours forevermore.
